About: Steve's story in the world of baseball is a testament to his passion and dedication, both as a coach and as a player. Since 2017, Steve has been a prominent figure in Koa’s Travel and BABL programs, showcasing his coaching prowess year-round. Currently serving as the Head Coach of the 13u Travel team, he has led them to an impressive 18-1 record, culminating in their victory at the 2021 Fall Batten Down the Hatches Open. His coaching journey began in earnest in January 2017, a decision that would mark the start of a fulfilling career on the field. In April 2021, Steve took on a new role within Koa's Front Office, assuming the position of Fields and Facilities Manager. In this capacity, he meticulously maintains all practice fields and indoor facilities, ensuring that every player has the best environment to hone their skills. He goes above and beyond his duties, organizing clinics and overseeing the popular 6-week summer baseball camp, providing young athletes with invaluable coaching experiences. Growing up in Rockville, MD, baseball was more than just a sport for Steve; it was a way of life. Surrounded by the game, thanks to his baseball-oriented family, he found his calling early. His journey as a player began with 8 years of travel baseball in Montgomery County. During his high school years at Rockville High School, he excelled as a Shortstop, where he started to refine his skills, particularly in the art of infield play. Steve continued his playing career at Montgomery College, showcasing his versatility as a Second Baseman and Utility player before transitioning to coaching, a move that has allowed him to pass on his love and knowledge of the game to the next generation. Steve's dedication, both as a coach and a player, underscores his commitment to the sport. His multifaceted roles within Koa not only highlight his expertise but also his deep-rooted passion for the game of baseball.
