Koa is thrilled to offer another Virtual Sport Management Course!  Students 7th-12th grade will be introduced to the behind the scenes world of Sports. Sports Management is one of the fastest growing professions and majors, come see what the buzz is about. Students will receive a Certificate of Completion for the course for their CV/resume.

Highlighted components of the curriculum include:

Sport Legal and Ethics: Analyze various ethical situations in sport. Learn about sport law and challenges leagues, players, and officials face.

Sport Agents: Take a look into the life of a sport agent – education needed, endorsement deals, contract negotiations, and play associations.

4 Major Sport Leagues: The fundamental basics of NFL, NHL, MLB, and NBA. Learn about the foundation, rule changes/innovations, jobs within the league, and how COVID 19 is affecting each sport.

Sports Management Online Course Dates: 5/5/2020, 5/7/2020, 5/12/2020, and 5/14/2020 (3:30pm to 4:30pm)

Cost:  $75/person

Who: 7th – 12th graders

Tony Korson: Guest Lecture

Tony, CEO of Koa Sports and 15+ years of experience in the Sports Industry, received his BA in Finance from FGCU. Tony is a former Graduate Professor at Georgetown University in Sports Industry and Management, along with being a Guest Lecture at UMD.

 

Emily Fornatora: Facilitator

Emily, Assistant AD at Koa Sports, received her BA in Sport Management at Towson University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Emily is a published author in the Journal of Sport Management Education.

 

 

 

Shaina Thompson: Asst. Facilitator

Shaina, Marketing Director at Koa Sports, received her BA in Sports, Entertainment, and Event Management from Johnson & Wales University – Providence, RI. Shaina was on the Field Hockey team at JWU and served as captain from her sophomore year to her senior year.
