Koa Development
Teams Dominate in Season Opener!

U12 DT Teams started the season strong on Saturday!

This past weekend, our U12 DT teams played in their first play day! Both teams came ready to play! The girls showed up with great enthusiasm and were excited to get the season started! With just a couple of practices under their belt, the U12 Green Team went undefeated and finished the day with a 3-0-1 record. The U12 White Team ended the day with a 1-3 record, but played hard and stayed in games by keeping the scores close! Both teams exhibited great team work and passion when playing this past Saturday! Maya Gutierrez- Flores and Carter Davis lead the offensive front for the U12 Green Team. Ashley London and Shelby Roth, on the U12 White Team, fought hard on the defensive end and challenged their opponents. We are so excited to see the girls continue their growth as players of the game! We are so proud of both U12 teams!

U14 DT Teams get the season going at their first Play Day this past Saturday!

This Spring, Koa has three u14 Development Teams: Koa Green, White and Black. Our U14 DT teams each started the season strong this past Saturday! All of our teams played Southeast Storm in very competitive games of field hockey. U14 Green and White ended the Play Day as the first and second seed, and ended up playing each other in the Championship Game! Koa Green players Sophia Wadeson and Maggie Rose led the charge and helped Koa Green go undefeated going into the Championship Game! But Koa White came to play and the team wasn’t going to let that stop them! Koa White ended up winning the match-up 1-0 in a close and competitive game! U14 Black went into the Play-Off round as the #4 seed with a record of 0-3. The Koa Black team didn’t let that bother them, and used it as a challenge to fight and earn their first win on the season. With great play and leadership from Naomi Brown, the team did not lose a step! They brought the energy and edged out Storm 1-0 in the final game to come away with their first goal and first win of the Spring season! All U14 teams combined for a total of 22 goals on the day! The girls showed great attitudes and effortless team chemistry during their games. It was great to see the girls on the field enjoying the game and beautiful weather. The U14 girls proved that when they step on a field it’s going to be a good game! All of our Koa u14 DT Teams showcased their skills and made Koa proud this past Saturday!

U16 DT Teams battle it out in their first Play Day!

Our U16 DT Green and White Teams participated in a competitive first Play Day against two local club teams: Southern Maryland Eliminators and Metro HC. The day consisted of lots of games and low scores. Both U16 Green and White teams held their own. U16 Green finished the day undefeated with a record of 2-0-2 which advanced them to the Championship Game as the #2 seed. Camilla Fietel, Emma Megary and Hannah Meit lead the offensive strikes and helped get points on the board. Kaitlin Ward displayed dominating defense! In the end, Koa Green tied Metro HC 0-0 in an intense back-and-forth game! U16 White went into Play-offs as the #3 seed and faced the Eliminators. This game was also extremely competitive between the two teams, and also ended in a 0-0 tie. U16 White saw excellent midfielder play from Zoe Kauffmann and Margaret Sullivan. Both Koa teams were competitive, played with heart, and put their best effort forward on Saturday, which helped them keep all games close in score! We are proud of the play the girls showed this past Saturday!
