Last week marked the first week for the K-8th grade fall clinic at Carderock Elementary, and the second week of the Fall Rec League, K-8th grade clinic at Luxmanor Elementary, and the U12 and U14 Development teams as well as the U12 and U14 Club Team fall practices. There are over 350 athletes that participate in at least one of these programs and the Koa coaches could not be more impressed by level of enthusiasm they bring to practice and the improvement even from week one to week two!
On Saturday the U12 and U14 club teams, and the U12 development team met up for a play day against Metro HC. Metro HC is a competitive group in the DMV so it was a great experience for our teams. The Koa teams posed a threat to the Metro HC opponents. Unfortunately Koa wasn’t able to come away with any wins but they proved to themselves and their coaches that they are able to play a high level.
Sundays Rec Leagues at Churchill High School and Stone Ridge the players are showing a lot of development. From the first week to the second week the athletes are taking the skills they learn from the coaches and implementing them in the scrimmages.
Across the board the coaches are enjoying their time with the field hockey athletes and are noticing an enhancement in their play.
