Earn Your SSL Hours With Us

Looking for a way to complete your SSL hours while staying in the game? We’ve got you covered. Koa Sports is an MCPS Pre-Approved SSL Organization, offering hands-on opportunities for students aged 14-17 to earn SSL hours through coaching, fieldwork, and community outreach.

Get Involved

Students earning SSL hours with Koa Sports will take on real responsibilities in one or more of the following roles:

Coach Assistant

  • Work alongside veteran coaches during practices and games
  • Assist athletes with skills, drills, and scrimmages
  • Help with stats, dugout management, and team organization

Field Crew

  • Prep and break down fields before and after practices
  • Line fields, set up training stations, and maintain equipment
  • Ensure all facilities are game-day ready

Community Outreach

  • Distribute flyers and promote Koa Sports programs
  • Travel to designated locations to spread the word about upcoming events
  • Help expand access to youth sports in the community

Support the Mission

  • Learn how a nonprofit sports league operates
  • Be part of our mission to Shape Kids’ Lives Through Sports
