Koa Sports has an indoor training facility for its athletes with Hittrax Technology.  Picture Top Golf, but for baseball.  BABL is where players push their limits, sharpen their skills, and compete in a league that’s designed for growth. Located in the heart of Bethesda and surrounding areas, Bethesda Youth Baseball program for athletes looking for more than just a game – it’s about preparing for the next level.

What is BABL?

BABL (Bethesda Area Baseball League) offers a high-energy, select “in-house” league for players in grades 3-9. It’s designed for intermediate to advanced athletes who are ready to compete in a local but highly competitive environment. Whether you’re from Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Rockville, or DC, this league will bring out the best in your game.

With 2-3 practice sessions a week, including clinics and team practices, players get the chance to develop their skills and compete on Saturdays in league games. Join the Koa Sports community, make new friends, and learn the game in a safe, supportive, and competitive setting.

  1. Register for a Tryout:
    Get your name on the list for the next tryout! Tryouts are held twice a year—late May/early June and late October. Be ready to show your skills and make the cut.
  2. Core Skills Matter:
    Players must have the fundamental skills to be drafted. Not everyone who tries out will make a team, so bring your A-game.

BABL Winter/Spring 2026 Details:

BABL A (3rd-4th Grade):

  • Season Dates: Saturday, Feb 7th- May 30th
  • Winter Workouts: Sat Feb 7th-March 7th (Five sessions)
  • Opening day: Saturday, March 28th (first outdoor practice March 13th)
  • Playoffs: Saturday May 30th (Single game elimination)
  • Game Schedule: Nine (9) regular season games on Saturday morning (mostly) at Cabin John Regional Park
  • Practice Schedule: Friday evening 6-7:30 pm at Churchill HS- IF IT RAINS- we will have a 1 hour Friday INDOOR practice inside of our facility
  • Cost: $1,098 / per player for the winter & spring season (payment plans available)
  • Uniforms: Personalized uniform with pants, hat, belt and socks included!
  • Roster Size: 12-13 players per team

BABL AA (5th-6th Grade):

  • Season Dates: Saturday, Feb 7th- May 30th

BABL AAA (7th-9th Grade):

  • Practice Schedule: Monday and Wednesday evenings - IF IT RAINS- we will have a 1 hour Wednesday INDOOR practice inside of our facility
  • Cost: $1,265 / per player for the winter & spring season (payment plans available)
  • Uniforms: Personalized uniform with pants, hat, belt and socks included!
  • Roster Size: 12-13 players per team

Postseason Tournament & All-Star Game

Get ready for the spotlight! Our postseason tournament culminates with the All-Star Game, where players get to feel like big leaguers. With walk-up music, an announcer, and high-quality photos, it’s an experience no one will forget.

The Best All-Star Game Ever

In 2014, the legendary Domingo Ayala, baseball’s comedic genius, hosted the BABL™ All-Star Experience. With millions of views on YouTube, Domingo lit up the event by coaching players, throwing out the first pitch, and mingling with fans. It was a night that every player and fan will remember forever.

Yes. Players will be grouped within 1–2 years of their age to ensure they are competing alongside their peers as much as possible.

Absolutely! If you are not interested in our travel program, simply indicate that on your registration form.

Teams are formed based on skill level and position after tryouts. While we do accept requests, we cannot guarantee them. Our priority is creating balanced teams with evenly matched skill levels.

Team formation begins immediately after tryouts. All players will be notified of their status within 7–10 days.

  • BABL A: Clinics on Fridays during the season.
  • BABL AA: Team practices on Mondays; clinics on Thursdays.
  • BABL AAA: Team practices on Mondays; clinics on Wednesdays.

All practices take place in the Bethesda, Rockville, and Potomac areas.

If you cancel after accepting your position on the team, you will be responsible for the full team fee. Injury-related cancellations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by Program Directors and Koa Sports Management. Any refund disputes will be escalated to Koa Sports’ Board, and Program Directors cannot make exceptions to this policy.

No. We are committed to fostering a positive environment for athletes and families. This league is about two things—improving skills and having fun. It is not a place for parents to disrupt the experience for the players.

Rainouts are an inevitable part of baseball. Field closures are determined by the county. While we will do our best to reschedule games, practices and clinics will not be rescheduled. Midweek games may be added, and each season includes a built-in rain makeup week.
